Florham Park, NJ (Sports Network) - Brandon Moore, who played with the New York Jets for 10 NFL seasons, announced his retirement on Wednesday. "What a tremendous player and a great person. He was just a great teammate," said Jets head coach Rex Ryan upon hearing the news. Moore was apparently on the verge of being signed by the Dallas Cowboys, but instead decided to walk away from the game for good. The 6-foot-3 Moore was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jets out of Illinois in 2002 as a defensive lineman, but made the transition to the offensive line the next year, and started 73 consecutive regular season games at right guard. In all, the suburban Chicago native participated in 144 games, all but two of those as a starter. Moores most infamous moment in an otherwise solid career came in an embarrassing 49-19 home loss to the rival New England Patriots on Thanksgiving night. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez lost his balanced, plowed into Moores backside and fumbled the football, leading to a Pats recovery and touchdown.Cheap Nets Jerseys .
