TORONTO -- Top-ranked Novak Djokovic beat 10th-seeded Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday night to reach the Rogers Cup final and improve to 12-0 against the Frenchman. You do have a certain mental comfort knowing that you have had plenty of success against your opponent, Djokovic said. Nevertheless, that is not a certainty. Thats not a guarantee that you can win the match. Actually, it actually makes him more eager to come out and play his best tennis. The winner in 2007, 2011 and 2012 in the hardcourt event that rotates between Toronto and Montreal, Djokovic will face third-seeded Kei Nishikori of Japan on Sunday. Nishikori beat second-seeded Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland 7-6 (6), 6-1 in the first semifinal.Djokovic is trying to win a record 30th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title. The 29-year-old Serb has six victories this year and 65 in his career. He has 12 Grand Slam titles, winning this year in Australia and France.Monfils was coming off a victory last week in Washington.I guess he missed a few shots at the beginning. I got some opportunities and I took them, Monfils said. And then suddenly he was not missing anymore. He was going for his shots and being much better in the rallies. He became super solid. When Novak is playing like that, its very tough to beat him.Djokovic had six double-faults and one ace.Ive been working on my serve a lot the last couple of years, and I think especially on the second serve it has gave me an advantage, more depth on the second serve and so forth, Djokovic said. In this tournament it is not working very well, but in general in past couple of years it has served me very well.Nishikori took his fourth straight Memphis title in February for his 11th ATP Tour victory. He has lost his last eight matches with Djokovic, the last loss in the Key Biscayne final in April, and is 2-9 overall.Havent beat Novak for a long time on hard court, Nishikori said. I think its going to be a great challenge for me to play Novak again in the final, because we played in Miami and he dominated the game. So, I hope I can get revenge this time.In the doubles semifinals, Britains Jamie Murray and Brazils Bruno Soares beat Canadas Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-7, and Croatias Ivan Dodig and Brazils Marcelo Melo topped Romanias Florin Mergea and Horia Tecau 6-4, 6-3.Swell Flaske Marmor . Inter president Erick Thohir says in a club statement on Wednesday that Vidic is "one of the worlds best defenders and his qualities, international pedigree, and charisma will be an asset.CHICAGO - Jose Reyes was scheduled to leave for Florida on Wednesday. Its time for his minor league rehab assignment, the next and final step toward the shortstops return from a sprained left ankle and Blue Jays manager John Gibbons cant wait to see him go. "How long it will take I dont know," said Gibbons. "I would say a couple of weeks I think hes got to play but that could change, too." Not even Reyes can predict the exact date of his return. "I didnt play for two months so when you dont play for that long, youre going to lose some stuff," he said. "But at least Ive been hitting (batting practice) the last two weeks, working on my swing but the big thing is going to be facing live pitching. Thats when Im going to know where my swings at but other than that, everything feels good. "Maybe five, six, two, who knows, it depends on how Im feeling," Reyes continued when asked how many rehab games he would need. "If it feels like my swing is there where I need to be, I dont want to take too long because I need to be here and not down there." Reyes has accomplished as much as he can with trainer George Poulis and strength coach Bryan King. As days have gone by, his pre-game routine has intensified. What began with light jogging, hitting off a tee and ground balls hit directly to Reyes morphed into sprinting and running the bases, full batting practice and grounders which required side-to-side movement.dddddddddddd All tests, to this point, have been passed. Its time to play. "Good, good speed right there," said Reyes. "I still have a little bit more left when I start to play the games. But I feel good, the way I performed when running the bases. Hitting is good and the last time, ground balls, I thought it was going to be an issue but it wasnt an issue at all because I was moving side-to-side, go back on pop-ups and stuff like that." Starter Brandon Morrow, who was placed on the disabled list June 1 with right forearm soreness, will be on the same flight to Florida as Reyes. Morrow threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, felt good, and is ready to enter the next stage of his rehabilitation. Morrow will make two or three rehab starts. Running out of time to make a run Since a May 11 win in Boston, the Blue Jays have been no better than seven games below .500, no worse than 10 below the break-even mark. Manager John Gibbons knows the club is running out of time to get back in the race. "You look back, we were in position to win that game against Texas, that would have been big, and then it was back and forth (Monday) night," said Gibbons. "Those would have been a couple of big wins for us because until you get to .500, I dont want to say pissing in the wind but basically thats what youre doing." ' ' '
